“Let me find Thy light in my darkness, Thy life in my death, Thy joy in my sorrow, Thy grace in my sin, Thy riches in my poverty, Thy glory in my valley.” ~Valley of Vision
July 24, 2012
Three weeks from today, I’ll load my little red car with most of my earthly possessions and drive more than 2000 miles—through nine states—from Rock Hill, South Carolina, to Salt Lake City, Utah. This move is something I’ve been praying about since November of last year, when I first heard about Plant for the Gospel.
At the time, moving across the country to be a part of starting Gospel Grace Church seemed like an impossibly crazy idea. To be honest, it still seems impossibly crazy. I’m leaving my family, my friends, and the best job in the world… for the uncertain and the unknown.
And there are many uncertainties and many unknowns. I don’t yet have a job or a place to live. I don’t know whether I’ll call the Salt Lake Valley home for a season or for the rest of my life. But I’m excited to see the many ways that God is already working.
Because this is my valley of vision, and I know I will see His glory.
